How to Set Up a Proper Practice Station

One of the things I tell all of my students is what they practice and how they practice is just as important as how much.

When you go to the driving range, you want to get the most out of your session. Let me give you two simple things that you can do.

The first is you want to have a couple Tour Sticks or yardsticks.

I happen to use the Tour Sticks; I have two of them right here, and I'm going to use them in two ways.

First, I'm going to put one on the ground that points directly at my target; this will help me make sure that my feet, my hips, and my shoulders and everything is nice and parallel to my intended target line.

The second one I'm going to put directly in the ground between the golf ball and where I want the golf ball to fly.

Now what I'm going to use this for is simply understanding where the ball started relative to that target line.

There's a lot of really good information that I can gather from simply understanding where the ball started.

Getting the most out of your practice session is going to help you be successful. Using a couple alignment sticks--one on the ground, one on the target line--will help you get the most out of your practice session.
